WHAT IS A FULL MOON?
In astrology, a Full Moon is when the Sun and the Moon in the current sky are opposite each other, meaning that they are 180 degrees apart in space from a geocentric point of view (geo= earth; centric= from the center/point of view). The moon’s location in relation to the Sun is what makes the moon shine with reflective light. When the two are opposite, the Moon is fully lit.
WHAT DOES A FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS MEAN?
On August 3, 2020, the Moon will travel through the constellation of Aquarius, and will oppose the sun at 12 degrees of Leo at 9:59am CST. The effects of a Full Moon are: completion, coronation, acknowledgment, connecting with others, sharing, fulfillment, and rest. In Aquarius, the Full Moon invites us to network, share resources, organize wealth, collaborate, see a larger picture, and connect one’s purpose to humanitarian goals.
While you may feel inspired to connect and collaborate, there are other emotions and drives at play, due to other aspects in the sky such as a square of Uranus in Taurus to the Sun-Moon opposition, which may result in bursts of energy followed by fatigue or irritability, inspiration and downloads of ideas followed by realignment of plans, and a desire to share together with a need for deep rest.
Another aspect is the opposition of Mercury at 17 degrees of Cancer to Saturn at 17 degrees of Capricorn. Mercury in watery Cancer wants to cuddle, exhale, release the effort to plan and strategize, while Saturn in Capricorn wants to continue the action of spiritual and emotional housekeeping it has been managing for a few months. Take it easy and dance with your energy levels without needing to define a specific course of action. At least during the weekend.
This month of August, in general, is a good time to slow down, step back and reassess. Once Virgo season starts, on August 22nd, we will be able to align our renewed visions and goals with a stronger commitment and focus.
